Deepak Sulakhe, President and CEO
Since the inception of his career 23 years ago, Deepak Sulakhe has developed more than 7,500 units of multifamily housing totaling over $950 million in combined debt and equity financing. In 2005, he founded OM Housing – a national award-winning, full service real estate firm that develops, owns and operates high-quality, eco-friendly multifamily residential communities. His strong reputation enables him to partner with top consultants in architecture, engineering, finance, construction, and property management. As a leader in the housing industry, he frequently participates on panels as a housing expert.
His experience includes titles such as Regional Partner, Senior Vice President of Development and Development Director with fully integrated national apartment development firms. Throughout his career, Deepak has been successful in bringing in new business, solving challenging real estate problems, expanding business relationships, streamlining development practices, and harmoniously orchestrating the development-construction-management-operations continuum.
With his unique set of skills that cover both architecture and finance, he is not only able to enhance the physical aesthetics and optimize design through value engineering of projects but is also able to match that expertise on the financial structuring of those projects. This exceptional and multifaceted experience enhances value in providing well-located, well-structured, eco-friendly, high-quality affordable housing. Deepak’s skill sets are reflected in all the prestigious awards and recognitions his projects have received. He has a bachelor’s degree in Architecture, a master’s degree in Urban Design, and a master’s degree in Real Estate Development/Finance. Deepak is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the National Association of Home Builders, and the Texas Real Estate Commission.
Deepak is married with two children. He cheers for the Dallas Cowboys, Texas Aggies, Oklahoma Sooners and Team India for Cricket.
Jason Lain, Director of Acquisitions
Jason Lain has worked with OM Housing in various capacities for close to a decade. He has 20 years of experience in residential development, brokerage and construction. With graduate degrees in Business Administration, Divinity and Clinical Psychology, he brings quite a diverse background to OM Housing. Jason is responsible for sourcing acquisition opportunities and hopes to deliver developments in strategic locations to not only improve communities but more importantly the lives of residents and neighbors.
Benetta Rusk, Director of Operations
Benetta has over 35 years of experience in commercial real estate, including the last 16 years in multi-family LIHTC development with various fully integrated national developers. Benetta brings a wealth of experience in the affordable housing industry including acquisitions, development, construction finance, and accounting.
Benetta is from Austin Westlake and a graduate of University of Texas at Austin with a BBA in Finance. She is a Texas real estate broker and obtained her Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 1996.
Jeannie Brasic, Director of Administration
Jeannie Brasic leads the company’s day to day operations, with responsibility for various aspects of the business. Before joining OM Housing in 2020, she served as a corporate paralegal for Pinnacle Property Management, where she was instrumental in handling a portfolio of 300+ organizational entities, a team of seven national Real Estate Brokers, and the oversight of the renter’s insurance and local jurisdictional business licensing.
During her tenure with Pinnacle Property Management, Jeannie’s additional accomplishments include playing a notably integral role in establishing both the company’s document control processes and its procedures policy. Further, her contributions to asset and portfolio management range from the implementation of cost-saving measures, to maintaining borrower and tax credit compliance, financial audits, federal and franchise tax preparation, and to serving as liaison to Trustee, Lenders, Housing Authorities, Non-profits and General Partnerships.
Jeannie's prior professional experience also includes such titles as Office Manager, Project Coordinator, Custodian of Records, and Corporate Entity & Portfolio Specialist. She enhances the OM Housing team with 19-years of relevant industry experience, such as development finance, asset and portfolio management, and a wealth of corporate legal knowledge.
In addition to the myriad certifications and CLE credits she has accumulated throughout her career, Jeannie is a Notary Public and holds a Paralegal certificate from the University of North Texas.
Seandolyn Pullum, Community Development Manager
With over twenty years of corporate experience with Fortune 500 companies such as United Health Plan, the University of Arizona Medical Center, IBM, Honeywell, Albemarie, and UPS, Seandolyn brings a multitude of experience in administrative management, education, procurement, and human resources to the OM Housing team.
Her administrative management and educational experience coupled with her creative marketing abilities give her an edge in organizing, promoting, and funding the abundance of social services available on-site at the apartment communities developed and owned by OM Housing. Seandolyn seeks to ensure that these invaluable resident services remain a steady fixture on all OMH owned properties, as well as a trademark feature in the company’s ongoing endeavor to set the stand for top-quality affordable housing communities.
Seandolyn’s passion of giving back to the community is exemplified by her volunteer efforts, with 6-years of assisting with the Special Olympics Texas, her 5-years with TutorMate and the Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity. Seandolyn holds an AA degree in Business Management from Dallas Baptist University and is Six Sigma Greenbelt certified.
Haley Riddick, Intern
Haley has joined the OM Housing team through an internship to gain knowledge and understanding of the processes related to affordable housing and its development as well as provide insight on various tasks throughout multiple departments. Stemming from her educational and personal experience, she has a passion for environmental sustainability and equitable housing. She believes that development should have an emphasis on providing services to all, especially the marginalized, and to do it in a way that honors the surrounding environment.
Haley has a bachelor's in Environmental Studies from Texas A&M University and is currently working on her master's in City and Regional Planning at the University of Texas at Arlington with a focus on affordable housing.
Preethi D. Sulakhe, Co-General Partner
Preethi Sulakhe, collaborating alongside her husband Deepak advanced OM Housing as an industry leader in Development, since the company’s inception in 2005. Preethi continues to organize day-to-day operations at OM Housing as well as work special projects. Preethi has also served as co-general partner on several affordable housing projects throughout Texas since 2007.
Preethi holds a Diploma in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering.
